LORENA CONTINUES MOVING WEST-NORTHWESTWARD...
THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS DISCONTINUED ALL TROPICAL STORM WATCHES AND WARNINGS ASSOCIATED WITH TROPICAL CYCLONE LORENA
Sunday, September 8, 2013 8:09 PM MDT Lorena has begun to dissipate and has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression . Lorena is currently about 90 miles west of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur.
TS Lorena is forecast to continue to dissipate , as it moves into colder waters of the Pacific. Rains, sometimes heavy at times are still possible through tonight throughout the southern most portions of Baja California Sur. Afternoon rain and thunderstorms are likely to be drawn west from the mainland by the low pressure off the western coast of Baja.
Tropical Storm Lorena is located near 23.8N 111.8W and is moving 300° at 05kts. Central barometric pressure is estimate at 1007Mb and winds are 25kts with gusts to 35kts, making Lorena, I guess you would say 'irrelevant'.
Here in La Paz, Lorena was a non-event, we received almost an inch of rain, mostly well in advance of the storm by moisture drawn east from the mainland.
As Lorena is dissipating, no further updates will be made to this page until historical data is available.
