THE SIXTH TROPICAL STORM OF THE SEASON FORMS WELL AWAY FROM LAND...
(pronounced fer-NAN-dah)
Tropical Storm Fernanda has formed near the edge of the Central Pacific Basin, well west of any threat or virtual impact to Baja weather. Fernanda is forecast to continue a westward motion along the ITCZ and remain just a tropical storm through the forecast period.
Tropical storm Fernanda is currently located near 12.3N 134.5W and is moving due west 270° at 7kts. Central barometric pressure is 1004Mb and winds are 40kts with gusts to 50kts. Fernanda is a moderate strength tropical storm. Landfall of Fernanda is not forecast in the next 7 days.
Tropical storm Fernanda evolved from TD6E which formed near the western edge of the Eastern Pacific hurricane basin.
TS Fernanda poses no threat to Baja and should have negligible impact on our weather. Information on this page will not be updated until historical information is available.
