06/20/10 09AM MDT Tropical Storm Blas is beginning to weaken as it moves over cooler waters today. TS Blas is now about 695 miles SSW of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This is the last update for TS Blas as it is expected to dissipate in the next 24hrs, harmlessly in the Central Pacific

Storm Blas is currently located near 17.6N 113.4W and the system is moving 285° at 10kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 992Mb and winds are 40kts with gusts to 50kts. Blas is now over cooler waters and will diminish through the day today and will have minimal affect on Baja weather.

Tropical Depression Blas formed on the morning of 6/17 and was quickly upgraded 40 minutes later to Tropical Storm Blas. Blas formed some 265 miles SSW of Manzanillo on the Mexican mainland or 600 miles SE of Cabo San Lucas.

With Celia forecast to become a major hurricane and Blas slowly dissipating, we will turn our focus eastward. No further updates will be made to this page until historical information is available.
