July 16, 2009 9:26 AM MDT Tropical Storm Dolores is weakening over cooler waters as it moves NW into the colder waters of the Pacific some 730 WSW of Cabo San Lucas.

Tropical Storm Dolores is currently located near 18.9N 120.4W and is moving 300° at 15kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 1002Mb and winds are 35kts with gusts to 45kts. TS Dolores is forecast to move to the WNW and over sub 26°C waters over the weekend and dissipate without making landfall or achieving hurricane intensity. No significant affects from this system should be felt in Baja Sur.

TD5E is forecast to take a more northwesterly route than did Hurricane Carlos and therefore will cross into sub 26°C waters more quickly and have a short life, dissipating by late in the weekend.

TD5E formed on the evening of 7/14 some 650 miles SSW of Cabo San Lucas. TD5E was upgraded to Tropical Storm Dolores at 9AM MDT on 7/15.
