Hurricane Carlos has moved into the Central Pacific basin. No further updates will be made to this page or graphics.

July 14, 2009 8:20 AM MDT Carlos has regained Hurricane 1 intensity. Hurricane Carlos is currently about 1465 miles SW of Cabo San Lucas. Carlos is not expected to affect Baja California Sur weather.

Hurricane Carlos located near 9.7N 127.2W and is moving 270° at 08kts. Central barometric 887Mb and winds are estimated at 65kts with gusts to 80kts. Carlos is forecast to continue a westward movement and pass south of the Hawaiian Islands early next week. Hurricane Carlos is believed to have passed its peak and will dissipate in the open Pacific by late week.

TD4E formed in the early morning hours of 07/10/09 900 miles due south of Cabo San Lucas. TD4E was upgraded to Tropical Storm Carlos at 3PM MDT on 7/10 and continued to strengthen through the night. Carlos was upgraded to Category 1 Hurricane Intensity at 3PM on 7/11. Carlos was downgraded to a tropical storm at 9PM of 7/12.
