 Tropical Storm Olivia, 2006

Information on Tropical Storm Olivia

Tropical Storm Olivia is dissipating. No further Insider information will be posted here until historical data is available. Automated updates at the bottom of this page will be kept current as posted by the NHC.

09AM MDT 10/11/06 Olivia has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression as  The storms 9AM position was 17.0N 124.5W  and it was moving 65° at 11kt. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 1005mb with winds of 30 to 40kts. TD Olivia is forecast to follow a very similar track to TD Norman and meet roughly the same end, some 24-48hrs after Norman.

With both of these storms (Norman & Olivia) dissipating so far away from Baja Sur there may only be an increased chance of afternoon thunderstorms resulting from these disturbances,

TD16E formed on 10/09 some 1350 miles WSW of Cabo San Lucas and has slowly turn to the NNE. TD16E was upgraded to Tropical Storm status in the 9AM release on 10/10 from the National Hurricane Center. It is entirely possible both Norman and Olivia will dissipate before reaching Baja Sur but will likely deliver some rain to the southern most parts of the peninsula. TS Olivia was downgraded to a Tropical Depression in the 9Am release form the NHC on 10/11.
