Tropical Storm Gilma Eastern Pacific 2006


Information on Tropical Storm Gilma

12PM MDT 08/03//06 Tropical Depression Gilma is located some 511 miles south of Cabo San Lucas. The storm is located near 15.7N 109.5W and is moving 295° at 09kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated a 1006Mb and winds are 25 to 35kts. Conditions are not favorable for Gilma to re-strengthen and it is expected the storm will dissipate in the next 72 hrs.`

On the morning of 08/02 Gilma was downgraded to a tropical depression. The system became the 7th named storm of the 2006 Eastern Pacific Hurricane season on the morning of 08/01, TD8E formed from a Tropical Low that had been moving along the ITCZ about 793 miles SE of Cabo San Lucas and was stimulated by a tropical wave earlier today.
