Tropical Storm Fabio Eastern Pacific 2006

Information on Tropical Storm Fabio or Hurricane Fabio 2006.

Tropical Storm Fabio is well beyond the threat window for Baja Sur. Fabio is headed in the direction of the Hawaiian Islands. No further Insider information will be posted on this page. The graphics and text warnings below will be automatically updated on issue from the National Hurricane Center.

03PM MDT 07/31/06 Tropical Storm Fabio has formed about 1068 miles SW of Cabo San Lucas. The storm is located near 14.5N 123.3W and is moving 280° at 12kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated a 1005Mb and winds are 35 to 45kts. Forecasts call for TS Fabio to maintain Tropical Storm strength for the next 72hrs, then move over cooler waters and begin to degrade. Tropical Storm Fabio poses no threat to the Baja peninsula.

The system is already too far west to present any credible possibility of landfall in Baja or mainland Mexico. The system formed from a tropical Low and a tropical wave that interacted over the last 24 hrs. TD 7E will move over sub 26°C water in the next 72 hrs and will begin to degrade.
