Achieved Category 3 Hurricane

Hurricane Bud was late in the season to be only the second named storm of the Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season. .

Bud evolved from Tropical Depression 3E which formed on July 10 and was deemed a TD in the 9PM MDT forecast from the NHC. 3E was upgraded to a Tropical Storm in the 5AM forecast. Bud achieved Category 3 Hurricane status before it moved NW over the central Pacific and cooler waters.
