Tropical Storm Blas Eastern Pacific July 12-15, 2004

Historical Data: Max Wind Speeds 50kts Tropical Storm

Tropical Storm Blas became a Tropical Storm on July 12, 3004

Tropical Storm Blas reached storm status in the evening of July 12, 2004. Blas posed little threat to Baja, never achieving hurricane status and being born too far west. Blas was downgraded to a tropical depression on July 14. Heavy rains were reported in Cabo San Lucas on the morning of the 13th and 14th as a result of Blas. Upper atmosphere winds in the region south of Baja are still light and southerly. It is later in the season when jet stream winds dip furth south that storms in this area can pose a threat to Baja. Tropical Storm Blas was downgraded to a Tropical Depression July 14, 2004

There was no damage or loss of life reported from Tropical Storm Blas.
