At 8AM PDT July 22,
2004 the National
Hurricane Center forecast declared Celia officially a hurricane. (see
what defines a hurricane)
Celia didn't enjoy the regal status of
hurricane long. The 2PM PDT report redefined Celia as a tropical storm.
Celia continued to move to the west and did not affect Baja
weather in any way.
Celia degenerate into a
tropical depression within 24 hours after moving into the colder waters of
the Pacific.
