Weather for the Baja California Peninsula

Baja Weather Synopsis

Wednesday, May 23, 2012 11:05 AM MDT Tropical Storm Bud is the big weather news on our map today, and even that system is too far away to be of much concern to Baja. Well couth of the 26°C thermo cline and about 715 miles south of Manzanillo on the Mexican mainland. Bud is forecast to become a hurricane later today and take a wandering course around the Eastern Pacific Basin. Bud is not currently forecast to make landfall, but the southern portions of the Sea of Cortez may see some increased short period surf toward the end of the week. In Baja things will remain pretty tranquil, with temperatures falling several degrees during the day and nights will be a bit brisk across the peninsula tonight. Winds in the Sea are forecast to remain light and variably with the exception of local thermal conditions like the Coromuel winds in the Bay of La Paz. Enjoy your day.
