August 31, 2010
Dear BajaInsider Subscriber:
First, an alert to travelers: Grupo Mexicana, parent company to Mexicana
Airlines, announced suspension of all flight operations as of noon Aug 28.
We have the facts and links to
apply for your
refund.
It
looks like we'll get through this final week of August without a
hurricane.
Hurricane Frank has now dissipated, but had us on our toes earlier
this past week. As every week, August through mid October we take a look
at the threats ahead with the
Hurricane Watch Report.
When a tropical cyclone forms we track it every 6hrs until Watches or
Warnings are issued, then we update every 3hrs on our
Tropical Watch
Weather and individual active hurricane pages. We will issue special
Insider Updates to our subscribers of Watches or Warnings include Baja.
Remember our
live weather station in
La Paz as well. In the event of a tropical cyclone our special Baja
hurricane coverage is the most trusted English weather reported directly
for Baja Sur, we'll update online constantly as the electricity holds out.
Our
Publisher, James Glover connects the upcoming
Burning Man event in Nevada
with Baja and it is more than just both have deserts. Lots of folks
from Baja enjoy this celebration of life, an interesting twist on the Baja
experience.
So, without further ado... here are the latest stories on the BajaInsider!
