Mexico Title and Escrow Company Celebrates 15 years in Business


The Settlement Company Celebrates a Birthday

The Settlement Company, Mexico’s first escrow and title company is now fifteen years old. It opened its doors on May 1, 1991.

Since that time it has provided closing and title services to the real estate industry. It has also provided tax and legal advice to the general public through its attorneys and accountants.

Of note, it introduced the very first MLS online service to the Mexican real estate industry, at a time when computers were barely learning to talk to one another!

Linda Neil, founder of the company, was the driving force behind the establishment of AMPI (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals) Sections in Los Cabos, La Paz and Uruapan, Michoacan. She has also made speeches on Mexican real estate law and practice at conferences and meetings throughout Mexico and the United States.

The company’s first office was in San Jose del Cabo, where it focused on real estate activities in the booming Los Cabos market. In 2000, it introduced the

 


Virtual Closing, using internet, fax and DHL The company is now able to serve the real estate industry throughout Mexico and has representatives in Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabos, La Paz, Leon, Guanajuato and Uruapan, Michoacan.
