Several international environmental groups are opposing the project
including Greenpeace.
The BajaInsider will be
following developments in this story, but in good environmental
consciousness can not continue to promote this project until these
questions have been resolved.
We encourage our readers who share our environmental
concerns to delay their investment in this project until these issues
have been satisfied. If you are in a rush to have your piece of Baja,
you might consider any of many other luxury projects in Baja
Sur that do not bear the current stigma of these environmental questions.
The Baja environment is fragile. With limited water
supplies, dwindling reserves and explosively increasing population
water will continually be at a precious commodity. Everyone with
financial interests in Baja Sur should be aware of not only the impact
of individual projects in which they invest, but all development as a
whole. For without water, ALL investments would suffer.
We will again point out that our stand on this issue
is based on our editorial opinion and that it is allegations that draw
us to suspend promotion of this project. We encourage readers
considering investing in the virgin lands here in Baja to do their due
diligence on their investment, not only from a financial perspective
but from an environmental one as well. These actions by real estate
consumers as a whole will encourage developers, who stand to make
billions in profit over the next few years, to include environmental
concerns in their planning
From it's inception 4 years ago the BajaInsider has
sought to promote tourism and development that leaves room for both
the environment and culture that existed in the Baja we first fell in
love with.
