2010 to be a Banner Year for CostaBaja Resort & Marina

Happy New Year!
The year 2009 was a year of significant construction at the Costa Baja Resort & Marina in La Paz. While other real estate projects worldwide ground to a halt CostaBaja Resort and Marina has surged forward. With an eye to the future of the resort development in La Paz the VistaMar and Las Colinas communities have seemingly erupted from the hillsides above the Bay of La Paz. The fairways and greens of the Gary Player Signature Golf Course are adding color to the property, as the new grass sprouts through the mulch. The New Year of 2010 will provide lots of excitement as these three projects will all come to fruition before the year ends.
The year saw the completion of the Water Recycling Facility on the western extreme of the property. The treatment facility will reclaim waste water from the city of La Paz to irrigate the grounds and Gary Player Signature Golf Course. With fresh water being a commodity in our desert environment and with CostaBaja’s eye on green development, the waste water is processed, aerated and stored in a small lake which reflects the impressive VistaMar community. Golf courses use significant amounts of water to maintain the greens and fairways, and in this desert environment using suitable drinking water for such a purpose would not be prudent. The directing management therefore chose to build a recycling facility which will not only provide water for the golf course but reduce the amount of effluent discharged by the city. A win-win for all!
The irrigation system for the Gary Player Signature course came online early this fall as the land sculpting for the course progressed. With the holes near the Las Colinas community taking shape early, green grass can now be seen on the fairways and greens of several holes. The Lake area, below the VistaMar community is nearly complete, with greens and sand traps that tantalize the golfer with the game to come. Inauguration of the Gary Player Signature Golf Course is anticipated for November, 2010 is certain to be a grand event and bring a new level of recreation to La Paz. The Golf course will be the cornerstone of activity, along with the marina for residents of the luxury resort on the Sea of Cortez.
The new communities of VistaMar luxury condominiums and Las Colinas hillside homes will be ready for occupancy in 2010 as well. The Las Colinas homes are taking shape between holes 10 and 11 of the Gary Player Signature course and happy homeowners will be moving in this coming summer. Located o the hillside with a spectacular vista of the Bay and Ensenada de La Paz these homeowners will soon be enjoying the beautiful and tranquil lifestyle that La Paz is famous for. And just about the time they get all the boxes unpacked it will be time to play some golf!
The VistaMar condominiums are also scheduled for occupancy in the early summer of 2010. Paint is being applied to the exterior while plumbing and electrical work continues inside. Visitors to the resort community can readily visualize what it would be like to wake every morning with a spectacular view of the Sea of Cortez for a luxury property of there own.
Many of the opportunities in both projects were presold before construction even began, but there are still a select number of options available for those seeking to make a real estate investment in Mexico or carve out there own piece of paradise for retirement or recreation. With CostaBaja’s location and facilities, there is no finer place in Baja Sur to invest in your dream home on the Sea of Cortez.
The New Year will see some changes in Pueblo Marinero as well. New restaurants and shops are opening this month and as the commercial area around the marina has become a focal point for La Paz dining and evening activity, The restaurant Azul Marino is always drawing a crowd with great food and good prices it is a La Paz favoraite. Now they are opening an associated wine and tapas bar - 'blau' directly adjacent. Publeo Marinero is certainly likely to become even more active as the new homeowners join the ranks of those enjoying this very special place in La Paz.
