VistaMar as seen from the Sea of Cortez

This is the time of year when our winter visitors begin returning to CostaBaja Resort & marina in force. Our weather is some of the best of the year, far better than most places north of us and the Sea of Cortez is at its most enjoyable. The folks returning to CostaBaja after a summer absence will find lots of progress in the resort development.

The VistaMar community, on the hillside over looking the beautiful Bay of La Paz has nearly completed the exterior construction and some of the modules are being painted. The luxury condominium and penthouse community enjoys a premium location on the CostaBaja property and this first of two VistaMar towers has been very popular with those looking to invest or make a home in La Paz, Baja California Sur. With the intensive construction which has taken place over the summer months, it is no longer necessary to have a vivid imagination to visualize your place in the sun.

Vistamar Community at CostaBajaVistaMar offers both condominiums and casitas. The casitas, in nine low-rise, bluff-hugging buildings, range from 3,068 square foot, two-bedroom, two and a half bathroom suites to 4,650 square foot three-bedroom plus loft suites with three and a half bathrooms. The residences, located behind the casitas in a six-story building, range from 2,636 square feet two-bedroom, two and a half baths to 4,381 square feet three-bedroom plus loft penthouses with three and a half bathrooms. Palapas, wooden trellises and shade structures constructed by local craftsmen have been incorporated in the design. Each suite has large terraces and panoramic views, and includes natural stone flooring throughout and granite slab kitchen counter tops and stainless steel appliances.

Las Colinas consrtuctionLushly landscaped grounds will capture the essence of the unique flora of Baja California with palo brea and mesquite trees, date and coconut palms, agaves and flowering shrubs. Cascading waterfalls will add meditative sound amid the shade gardens.

The VistaMar model home is open and is located on the beach, close to the CostaBaja Beach Club.

The Las Colinas community has also erupted from the hillside overlooking the Ensenada de La Paz. The attached family homes are loaded with features that both full time and part time residents of the resort community will find indispensable. Large kitchen and bath areas are some of the features that North American buyers will find enticing.

Las Colinas attached single family homesOutdoor living is a large part of the La Paz lifestyle, and with the spectacular views and conducive climate both the VistaMar and Las Colinas community homes take full advantage of these gifts. Large patios and or decks giver you the room to to take your living outdoors. Who wouldn't enjoy a barbecue overlooking a stunning Baja sunset from the comfort of your own tropical home.

The Las Colinas model home will be opening soon, within the actual location of the community as soon as exterior work is completed.

The Las Colinas community is located within the 18 hole Gary Player Signature Golf Course , between holes 10 and 11.

Gary Player Signature Course Hole 11Perhaps the most visible changes in the landscape of the CostaBaja Resort is the progress being made on the Gary Player Signature Golf Course. There is of course still some time to go before the course is ready to play, but already several of the holes have completed landscaping and seeding and grooming have begun on several holes.

Straddling the hillside at the entrance to the Ensenada de La Paz golfers will be able to enjoy the sparkling vistas of the Sea while enjoying the Scottish Curse on one of the finest courses to be constructed in Baja California Sur. The course is designed to wrap around the entire resort community and provide not only recreation for the residents and guests but also provide the beautiful green landscaping that a golf course brings. The well groomed fairways and greens will provide a sharp contrast to the green of the Sea of Cortez and the stark beauty of the surrounding mountainsides. Along with the timeless design of the CostaBaja communities, the golf course will certainly provide a landmark to all those entering the Ensenada de La Paz.

Gary Player Signature Golf Course at CostaBajaNovember also brings the return of the winter boating crowd. The winds in the Sea return for some spectacular sailing on relatively tranquil waters. A large number of boaters discover the marine facilities at CostaBaja and every year a few more of them make the marina a year round home. With easy air travel from much of the West Coast of North America, boaters often find they use there boat here more than they might in the fringed waters of the Pacific. Just about 40 minutes flight from Los Angeles these 'commuter cruisers' appreciate the security and facilities of one of the finest and best maintained marinas in Baja. Cable TV/Internet, well maintained docks, exceptionally clean water supplies delivered at adequate pressure and a marine store on the premises all add to the boating experience of the CostaBaja Marina.

Having been a resident of CostaBaja myself for 4 years i must also take this opportunity to provide kudos to the marina staff. They are without a doubt the most friendly and helpful marina staff I have encountered in my MANY years of boating and cruising. a shuttle service several times per day allows both residents and marina guests easy access to La Paz, just a few kilometers away.

The CostaBaja Marina also offers unparallel storm protection, particularly in the inner basin.

To end the day at CostaBaja residents are flocking to the Beach Club, located steps from the water. With architectural beauty that is only rivaled by the La Paz sunsets which can be enjoyed from the bar or poolside, it is a favorite way to end the day or enjoy breakfast or lunch served from the onsite kitchen. Exceptional service by a friendly and attentive staff can not go without mention.

Marina at CostaBajaThere have been some changes to the restaurant line-up in the Pueblo Marinero commercial areas surrounding the inner basin marina as well. Our friends at Azul Marino, an outstanding restaurant with marina view, has added a wine a tapas bar. Between their knowledge of wines and the new walk-in wine cellar, Azul Marino now offers probably the best and widest selection of wines in La Paz.

Soon a convenience market and an Irish Pub will join the seafood restaurant, Azul Marino and laundry on site. Baja Fun is also doing a bang-up business from the marina providing dive, snorkel, excursions and land adventures from their offices located above the marina.

The staff and sales representatives of CostaBaja would like to extend their invitation to come visit this slice of paradise on the Sea of Cortez. When you come to La Paz to consider your investment in the CostaBaja Resort you can stay at the lovely Fiesta Inn, located on the property.

Come on down... we wait to welcome you!
