Ensenada is a the port city for Baja California and has been a hub for development in the region. Located about 90 minutes south of San Diego on the rugged Pacific Coast, Ensenada remains cool much of the year.
The city has long been renown for shopping and tourist activities. Dining from fish tacos on the waterfront to fine French cuisine is available. Ensenada is home to Hussong's Cantina, originator of the Margarita. Ensenada is a regular stop for cruise ships from Los Angeles and San Diego.
The waterfront is developing, with restaurants and small boutiques. A fresh seafood market is located at the northern end of the malecon. Foods, services and products are readily available from US and Mexican chain stores.
