Dr. Arciga´s History

Dr. Arciga realized his studies at the University of Michoacán located in his home town of Morelia in the middle Mexico. He has resided in Cabo, Baja Sur since 1979.

Dr. Arciga’s original idea was to set up his dental office at the border between California and Tijuana so that he could offer his professional services to both the Mexican and American people who crossed the border, looking for affordable dental services.

In 1976, as part of his University Education, Dr. Arciga visited Cabo San Lucas, where he was to provide a mandatory social service. At the time Cabo was only a small port town with its main attraction being the sport of marlin fishing.  It was however, surrounded by incredible natural beauty.

It was during this first visit that Dr. Arciga fell in love with the area.  He loved the beautiful beaches, amazing sand dunes, sun drenched desert, and stunning sunrises & sunsets of Cabo San Lucas.  It was not surprising that he decided that he wanted to make Cabo his home.  Upon completing his social service, he realized that by remaining in Cabo he would still be able to reach his professional objective to serve the international clientele that frequented the area.

Dr. Arciga decided to start his dental practice in Los Cabos and continued with his dental mission at La Paz.  Since 1979 Dr. Arciga has successfully offered his services to people from all around the world.  This truly was a life changing decision which allowed him to develop an excellent reputation and build an international clientele, many of whom remain in close contact and have become his close personal friends.

Many of Dr. Arciga´s customers are co-nationals, primarily coming from Canada and the US.  While some visit him for treatments while on their travels, many, especially the retirees, permanently live in Cabo.

A Continuing Education

Since 1977 very soon after his graduation, his professional studies as a general dentist had been modernizing frequently in different fields, as: root canals, dental prosthesis, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and full mouth rehabilitation.

He has focused his education experience in dental implants; he had the opportunity to attend a special education program on this field under the direction of some of the most important surgeon dentists in Canada, who are Dr. Norman Kwan and Dr. John MacCollough as well as Dr. Ernesto Moran a Mexican Doctor based in El Paso, Texas.
Until today 2009 Dr. Arciga with 56 years, he keeps up an intense education, attending very important conferences in different cities around the USA and Mexico from the international corporation Nobel Biocare, a Swedish company leader in research and production of dental implants. www.nobelbiocare.com

Dr. Arciga received a Diploma from the Universidad Estatal de Baja California Sur to teach English with the purpose to improve his communication skills; he also speaks Italian and received an especial invitation from the University to teach both languages in the campus.

His passion and enthusiasm to learn more languages gave him the opportunity to learn more languages as: German, Dutch, French and Catalan.

Additional Associates:

Based on his experience and proficiency to help patients from the United States and Canada, Dr. Arciga developed a special group of associated dentists and surgeons to help him attend his growing clientele and help people who are looking for different services as: Periodontist, sedation and surgery.

The versatile specialists are Dr. Linda Hernandez, Periodontist, she obtained her post-graduate training at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara; Dr Victor Vazquez, an Endodontists, and he received his post-graduate diploma from the Universidad de Aguascalientes and Dr. Francisco Varo, graduated in 1975 from the Universidad de Guadalajara and performs general dentistry.
