History of Pimp N’ Ho Ball in Cabo San Lucas Baja, Mexico
Brian
Balsley, the owner of Pazzo’s (at the time) and manager Brad Baer came
up the idea of throwing and setting up the first Pimp n Ho Ball in Cabo
in a matter of 3 days according to Brian. Brad knew about the party from
the states as Brian explained “I didn’t know what they were talking
about at first”. They had a customer friend that had a D.J. with his
vinyl (yes that long ago) in town and he agreed to play for free beer
and pizza. It was a hit even on such a short notice so they knew they
had something.

The
following year, 1999 they promoted the first annual Pimp N Ho Ball in
Cabo San Lucas and it has continued to grow every year. Brian says
“Every year since, the party just keeps growing with people planning
their vacations around it and getting their costumes
together a year in advance”. In 2003 Brian sold Pazzos Pizza and in 2004
brought in a partner and friend Brent Underdahl to really get serious
about the Pimp n Ho Ball for all of Mexico.

Damian
Saunders was the actual originator of the Pimp n Ho Ball according to an
interview I found on the Internet claimed it evolved from a theme party
he started 14 years ago in Huntington Beach, Orange County, California.
Then John Huntington of Hart and Huntington Tattoos also now in Cabo and
Damian moved it to Vegas after a few years and it has grown into a crowd
of 10,000 as of 2006. I guess Cabo has a little catching up to do and it
sure seems that it is on its way to doing just that.
Brian
now has the “Pimp n Ho Ball”, name trademarked for Mexico and Europe. He
says it takes about 7 months of preparation for the one night “Best
party in Baja”. He is planning on another one in Cancun presently and is
working with the
promotion
company, 
Noche Magazine to market the Pimp n Ho Ball as a turn key package to those nightclubs
in Mexico and Europe that would like to have one of their own.
Last year they had 1900 Pimps n Ho’s and this year they
are expecting even more. There is a limit on ticket sales as Passion can
only handle 3000 so you might want to get you tickets now as
they

early as Brian said last year “there were100 people in line before they
opened the doors at 9:00pm”
This years Pimp n Ho Ball is on the 25th of October (the last day of the Bisbee Fishing tournament) and will once again be held at one Passion of the greatest nightclubs in Cabo, located in the Me by Melia hotel.
