Attributes:
An artistic community located almost
half way between La Paz and Cabo San Lucas on Mexico 19. Todos Santos and Pescadero enjoy
possibly the best climate in Baja California. Springs and aquifers that
attracted sugar cane growers over a century ago have been depleted, but still
keep the area much greener than the surrounding desert.
Accommodations - Bed and Breakfasts and
boutique hotels abound.
Dining: One of the things you go to
Todos Santos to do is eat. A variety of excellent restaurants offer Mexicana
Nuevo cuisine along with those offering traditional Mexican fair, steaks and
seafood.
Shopping - Art galleries, ceramics,
leather, hand-made clothing and tourist items. Groceries available from small
markets. Major shopping is done 1hr away in Cabo or La Paz.
Surfing - Experiencing both the winter
and summer surf season, tropical storms can bring great waves and throngs of
surfers in late summer.
Medical Facilities - Limited
Cultural - Regular open air concerts in
the plaza, seasonal art and food fairs, reggae fest and surf contest.
Todos Santos was initially by-passed by
the Trans-peninsular Hwy 1 in the late 1970's but with the completion of Hwy19
in the 1980's experienced rapid growth and became the preferred route from La
Paz to Cabo San Lucas.
