Sea Spa Services at the Cabo Surf Hotel

Beach Side Whirlpool at Cabo Surf Hotel

Her hands floated in, out, and around my aching muscles from the base of my skull to the tips of my toes. A weeks worth of business meetings and moving into a condo, had left my body tighter than a drum. Masseuse Griselda Ramirez’s long soothing palm and forearm strokes on my larger muscles transported me to a higher level of physical comfort than I knew existed. The Swedish massage treatment was a balm for my suffering body and soul.

The massage at Cabo Surf Hotel’s Sea Spa worked out my issues – large, small, physical and mental – leaving me rested, rejuvenated and ready to deal with whatever life tosses my way.

Sea Spa Interior Los CabosSerendipitously Michael Kollwitz, world master of the esoteric Chapman Stick – a sort of guitar/piano hybrid – had recently blessed the new spa with CD’s of his music. His ethereal music harmonized my treatment with the sound of the surf outside. Sepia colored murals of sea life and nubile Baja Indian princesses compliment the warm, intimate facility, which consists of a salon, three treatments rooms, and a large couples room with a natural stone whirlpool spa. The beauty salon space is overstuffed in black leather with exotic wood accents. The lighting is subdued, the ambience – serene and luxurious.

Sea Spa at Cabo Surf Hotel is the result of years of dreaming and planning by hotel owner Mauricio Balderrama and Camille Ysebrand of Camille by the Sea Spa in Santa Barbara California. Mauricio wanted a spa that connected his guests with the sea while Camille dreamt of putting all her expertise gained from years working with Hollywood stars and fashion magazine models, to work in a new spa in Mexico.

Salon at Cabo Surf HotelThe ocean front boutique hotel has long been a favorite of celebrities and surfers who arrive in Land Rovers and private jets. Faded Hawaiian shirts, board shorts and Tommy Bahama island wear blend well here.

Special treatments have been designed for the hotels guests who are often athletic and appreciate treatments that alleviate symptoms arising from sports activities or intense lifestyles. The Surfers Sports Package spa treatment will relieve aches and pains associated with spending hours catching waves, marlin, driving golf and tennis balls, or a Baja 1,000 race car. Designed to help moisturize your dry skin, alleviate your aching muscles and calloused feet – it will put you back in the game as-good-as-new.

A special romantic hydrotherapy whirlpool bath and massage for couples was designed to “Bring body and soul into complete harmony.” Perfect for before, during or after your wedding. The hotels Irish green lawns often play host to weddings-in-paradise with happy couples exchanging vows under swaying palms fronting the spectacular surf break.

Sunset at Cabo Surf HotelUnique body treatments include a Sea Mud Body Wrap that tones and feeds your skin. The Mayan Milk Whirlpool Bath will relax your muscles while leaving the skin exfoliated and moisturized. The Mud Tub Treatment uses volcanic mud that reduces inflamed muscles and replaces minerals. Full spa and salon services including Make-up Artistry are available. Several different types of facials are offered from Microderm-abrasion and Vitamin C facials to hydration facials. Sun damaged skin can be renewed with wrinkles and sunspots reduced and healed.

Salon at the Sea SpaMy bride of six years past enjoyed a Sea Spa Facial treatment involving a skin analysis, pore cleansing, softening steam and exfoliation. A special sea mineral moisture face massage with a seaweed mask was followed with a soothing face, neck and shoulder massage to detoxify and oxygenate. The 55-minute treatment included a foot and scalp massage. She came out looking as beautiful as the day we were married.

Beautiful Bride Make-ups, Makeovers, Hairstyling including braiding, coloring, highlighting and deep conditioning treatments are available. Special beauty products designed for the Baja desert and sea environment are used in the spa and can be purchased for personal use at home as well. Spa packages include - A Day at the Beach, Surfers Sports Package, The Tranquil Spirit, The Salon DecoreBrides Spa Day and The Sea Spa Escape. The unique packages come with a variety of treatments and amenities. Some include a Spa lunch or afternoon snack. Others offer pedicures, manicures, warm stones, mud tub, lavender facials and my favorite - the Mango sugar scrub.

The Mango Sugar Full Body Glow is a body and water treatment that hydrates and exfoliates tired dull dry skin while it renews healthy cells and diminishes fine lines. It’s an “…invigorating scrub for thirsty skin.” Wrap it up with a Mango margarita on the terrace overlooking the sea and do like I do – pretend for a minute, that it’s really you taking that long ride on the face of that awesome wave below.
