Cacti Mundi or Cactus World in San Jose del Cabo

Cactus, cactus and cactus are what many people think of when images/cactimundi.jpg thinking of Baja. Well you definitely can find all types if you travel all over Baja or you can visit just a few places and see of the incredible variety of species.

The new Cacti Mundi or “Cactus World” is now open in San Jose del Cabo and is definitely worth the price of admission if you would like to really learn more about and see incredible specimens of succulents.

(Click on pictures on this page to see an enlarged view.)

images/barrelcactus.jpgHere  they  have brought together and created an incredibly beautiful mosaic of cactus. It well worth a short stop to see what life the desert really has.

If you are very interested in plants of all kinds then I recommend a day trip to the Campo Experimental or botanical

gardens that are located between Pescadero and Todos Santos (see map). While they are not quite as commercial as the Cacti Mundi they can be very informative and have specimens of many more plant s than just those of the succulent family.

We will be visiting the gardens soon as we go touring the Cape region to see how it all faired after Ignacio. I hope to bring you plenty of great pictures and some new stories.

Hasta pronto, Jaime
