Rosarito Lobster Fest Gets New Look On Oct 9 & 10
ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA---The festival celebrating the crustacean that helped make this tourist town 30 miles south of San Diego world-famous will get an exciting new look this year.
The Fiesta de Langosta (Lobster Festival) from 12 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 and 9 will be at Puerto Nuevo Lobster Village,
The $25 dlls ticket for the event includes a lobster, one beer, one soda and a sample of Ensenada’s famed Guadalupe Valley wine country, dancing, music and a performance of traditional Mexican folkloric ballet.
A festival tent for 500 people will be erected and appointed with fine table settings. The Grand Baja is offering special rates to guests who want to stay at the elegant oceanfront hotel during the event.
Rosarito Beach is famous for its lobster and Puerto Nuevo-style. preparation. Because of its popularity, what once was a small fishing village a few miles south of downtown Rosarito, now has 40 restaurants featuring the choice crustacean.
Its popularity began when fishermen’s wives prepared simple but delicious lobster dinners for their returning husband’s and visitors who came down to charter a day of fishing in the ocean waters off the village, where lobster was plentiful.
This year’s Fiesta de Langosta also will feature several of the leading wineries from Guadalupe Valley. The lobster festival is a wonderful opportunity to sample some of the area’s best food and drink, in a festive atmosphere,
32 Annual Rosarito Beach Bike Ride
Celebrating its 32nd anniversary, the Rosarito Ensenada Bike Ride has been positioned as the largest cycling event in Mexico and the 3rd most important event of its class in our continent. Being held twice a year, this internationally known event is visited by thousands of cyclist all over the world. For 50 miles of fun, whole families, cycling amateurs and professional athletes share this wonderful and exciting experience that takes place at the beautiful scenery of Baja California México.
The Event:
The ride starts at Rosarito Beach at 10 am. It is a 50 mile paved road distance of beautiful scenarios and an interesting course with long straight-aways, turns, uphill’s and downhill’s that you can enjoy with fun and humor along the other participants that have accepted the challenge. We can assure you that you will be surrounded by a festive atmosphere all along the course. By the finish line at Ensenada, your effort will be rewarded at the Finish Line Fiesta where you will be able to relax, have fun and celebrate while you share your experience.
This Ride may not be competition but it sure is a challenge.
Casual bikers accomplish the ride in an average of 4 hours; on the other hand professional cyclists often take half that time. The record for the ride is 1:52:54 and it was set by Peter Andersen from San Diego CA, and his team: Karl Bordine, Chris Dimarchi, Matt Johnson and Nate Diebler, on April 21st, 2007. Whether you are a professional or a casual cyclist fun and enjoyment are guaranteed for this ride!

Participants can register in advance online for $35 USD through BetterSignUp.com (all credit/debit cards accepted). United States citizens can also register on the day of the event for $40 USD cash at the Rosarito Beach Hotel. Mexican citizens can register in advance at bike shops and gyms throughout Baja for $350 MXN, or they can register on the day of the event for $400 MXN at the Rosarito Beach Hotel.
