There is a special segment of Baja travelers that seeks out the culture and essence of the peninsula in their journey. From restaurants to accommodations, these travelers delight in not only the find, but the finding. If you are one of these travelers one great way to immerse in the culture on your travels is a bed and breakfast. We recently discovered a new B&B that should be on your list of places to stay in La Paz.

The Baja Bed and Breakfast is just such a place, where you can socialize with other visitors to La Paz or enjoy a quiet space to yourself. The quaintness one expects from the bed and breakfast experience is evident in this newly renovated 3 story townhouse in the heart of La Paz and your hosts Cecilia and Antonio.

Located a block from the zócalo (central square) of La Paz the Baja Bed and Breakfast opens onto Calle Francisco Madero though a single quiet and secure doorway into the courtyard beyond. Built in the original style of many homes in the area, the ‘backyard’ is actually contained within the walls of the home. Walking in through the gated entry the passage opens up into the great common area. When this design originated, the enclosed yard not only provided security and privacy, but allow dwellers to enjoy the outdoors, indoors, without the dust of the passing wagon wheels on the street outside. Today, the courtyard provides a location for guests to enjoy breakfast, socialize and enjoy a soak in the whirlpool.
