Punta Arena and Cerralvo Island Fishing Report

October 7, 2006

This has been a fabulous year for fishing here in the Sea of Cortez and the action is continuing right into the fall.

Carlos from Club El Moro reports that, "We have a lot of tuna by Ensenada de los sueños and dorados everywhere in La Paz area.

Who says there's not whites in Baja Sur? See the attached picture of this which was caught in Santa Rosalia, year 2004 (Photo provided by our client Kevin Hand who will be staying with us at Club El Moro very soon) Amazing isn't it?

With the water temperatures remaining high the hope is the great fishing will continue another couple of months. But don't delay, you wouldn't want someone else to catch all the big ones! The nice part about this time of year is the Baja sun isn't as overpowering as it can be in June and July.

Remember, when taking an open panga trip bring good sun protection in the form of a hat, a light long sleeved shirt, sun glasses and a high SPF protection product.

You can also read an interview with Carlos of Club El Moro in The Art of Catching the Big Fish in La Paz.

Here is Carlos himself, holding up enough fish for a rather large BBQ!

Richard and wife having some relax in one of the jacuzzies of Club El Moro after the fishing trip.
